Workflow Automation — Forms, Approvals, and Triggers
What Is Workflow Automation?
Workflow Automation in PeerBie lets you set rules that trigger actions automatically — no manual intervention needed. Set it up once and PeerBie handles the repetitive parts of your process.
Types of Automation
Trigger → Action Rules
The most common automation type. Examples:
- When a task moves to Review → notify the project manager
- When a task is overdue by 1 day → set priority to Urgent and notify the assignee
- When a task is marked Done → send a message in the team feed
- When a new task is created in a section → auto-assign to a specific person
Forms
Create intake forms that automatically create tasks when submitted. Useful for:
- Bug report forms → creates a task in the dev team’s project
- Content request forms → creates a task in the content team’s workflow
- Leave request forms → creates an approval task for the manager
Share the form link with anyone — they don’t need a PeerBie account to submit.

Approval Flows
Set tasks to require approval before they can move to the next stage. When a task reaches the approval stage, designated approvers are notified. They can approve or reject directly from the task or from Lucy.
Creating an Automation Rule
- Open a project → click the Automation tab.
- Click + New Rule.
- Choose a Trigger (what event starts the rule).
- Add Conditions (optional — further filter when the rule fires).
- Choose an Action (what PeerBie should do).
- Click Save. The rule is live immediately.
SLA Management
Set Service Level Agreement timers on task types. If a task hasn’t moved within a defined timeframe, PeerBie automatically escalates it or notifies the right person.
Start simple: The most valuable first automation is usually “notify the manager when a task is overdue.” Add that one rule and you’ve eliminated one of the most common team communication failures.
